About Christina

A counsellor and supervisor who believes that practitioners do their best work when they feel supported, heard and able to think.

My background

I have worked as a counsellor for [X] years, in settings including [private practice, the NHS, the voluntary sector and education]. Over that time I have supported clients with a wide range of difficulties, including [anxiety, bereavement, trauma and relationship issues].

I trained as a clinical supervisor because I wanted to offer other practitioners the kind of supervision that had made the greatest difference to me: thoughtful, honest and genuinely interested in both the client work and the person doing it.

My approach to supervision

My counselling practice is [person-centred / integrative], and I welcome supervisees from all modalities. In supervision I draw on [the Seven-Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet) and Proctor's three functions], paying attention to the client, the therapeutic relationship, the practitioner and the wider context in which the work takes place.

I see supervision as a collaborative relationship. It should be a place where you can bring the sessions that went well and the ones that left you unsure; where you can be challenged safely and supported honestly. I aim to be warm and down-to-earth, while taking seriously the responsibility we share for ethical, safe practice.
